Prospects for the development of cybersport have been discussed at AUPET

Today, enthusiastic students of various institutes and specialties, who are fond of cybersport, have met with the leadership of the university. The students shared their experiences, the results achieved in this area, and presented their plan for the development of cybersport in AUPET. Many students have already taken part in small and medium esports tournaments in different regions of the country. And some students have just started joining this global trend. The specialists and curators of the Institute of Information Technologies were assigned to the students. The curators, together with the students' trade union committee, will guide cybersport fans in the right direction. It should be noted that cybersport was included in the unofficial list of disciplines at the Olympic Games. In Kazakhstan, this new direction originates with the participation of the Kazakhstan national team at the WCG 2002 in Seoul in 2002. It was recognized as an official sport on June 25, 2018. At the moment, several cybersport teams from Kazakhstan play at major tournaments in the disciplines Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and PUBG. The Rector of AUPET Sagintayevna Saule Sovetovna announced the allocation of funds for the purchase of 11 super-powerful gaming computers, the opening of a separate auditorium for holding internal competitions and preparing students to participate in external competitions. The students were satisfied that the university created all conditions to support this promising direction and felt support from the university leadership. We are very pleased that the number of students interested in cybersport is growing and are ready to provide comprehensive support to new participants.
