On November 25, 2021, the event "1500 laptops for freshmen" was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. It is being held for the second year in a row and should help first-year students to adapt to the new learning environment online.

 The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Sergei Vladimirovich Konshin, spoke in detail about the goals of this action: “No university in Kazakhstan does this. We believe that this should be done in a pandemic. We must provide support to students. Now students listen to online lectures. This is a huge advantage. In a year and a half of the pandemic, we realized that learning online is stronger than just lectures. This is the best way to gain knowledge, because a student can review one lecture dozens of times. This is very good for the self-discipline of the student himself. "

The distribution of laptops took place in the directorate in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological standards. If the student was in another city, then he could issue and receive a laptop through a proxy. If the student did not have such an opportunity, then the laptop can be reversed to him or her.
