The Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Dear students, teachers, colleagues, friends!

Today our country celebrates a public holiday - the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Let's remember that the event that took place on December 1, 1991 served as the historical prerequisite and the basis for choosing the date of the holiday. As a result of the first national elections, Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev was re-elected to the post of President of the Kazakh SSR. On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR proclaimed the state independence of the Republic. Nursultan Nazarbayev becomes the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and takes on a central historical role in implementing systemic reforms and large-scale transformations. He became the father of a young nation, and under his wise leadership, the country acquired a Kazakh model of sustainable state and social development.

Our youth was brought up in the spirit of patriotism and freedom. Recently Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the youth of Kazakhstan during the republican forum "Tauelsizdik Urpaktary": “Today each of us should be ready to live and work for the sake of Kazakhstan and its future. I appeal to the youth of Kazakhstan with an appeal: create, dream, create and love, live for the good of our country! You are the new wings of independent Kazakhstan! "

We are proud that students and graduates of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev are inspired by the edification of the First President and make their dreams come true. It was our graduates who were among the first to create the industrial, energy and scientific infrastructure of independent Kazakhstan. And today, many of them are involved in the implementation of the strategic state program for the digitalization of the country and environmental protection. 

We follow the Kazakhstani development model in cooperation with world universities and international organizations. Leading educational institutions such as the American University IGlobal, the British Royal Institute for Transport and Logistics CILT, the German Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau and many others have established good partnerships with AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. In addition, our students participate in the international ENACTUS AUPET program, study business and the basics of a market economy, thereby applying their theoretical knowledge in practice. In such opportunities, the model of the First President is manifested, when a young citizen of Kazakhstan dares and discovers the science and culture of other countries and peoples. Everything is done in our country so that young people learn and develop. For example, this year our university distributed 1,500 new laptops to freshmen for successful study and high-quality mastering of new knowledge.

We would like to especially note that today's public holiday has become another opportunity to be with relatives, and to remember the achievements of an outstanding person - N.A.Nazarbayev.
