Discussion of the information security tournament \"Rubik CTF\"

On December 10, 2021 at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after G. Daukeyev a meeting with the technical director of the company “Specter” Rasim Bataraev from the city of Nur-Sultan was held. The parties discussed the possibility of holding an information security tournament "Rubik CTF" in format CTF (Capture The Flag) for students of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan on the basis of AUPET. The difficult mission of capturing the "flag" will be set before the competitors. Solving certain problems and holding their positions until the last second, they will have to gain the upper hand and win.

In the last tournament, our 2nd year student of Master’s program Nureken Eldos of the group MSISs-19-1, specializing in Information Security Systems, took part. He entered the top three, finishing second. During the tournament, he confidently held his position, gaining 937 points.

The new tournament "Rubik CTF" at the AUPET named after G. Daukeyev will strengthen cooperation with the company “Specter”. It will provide an opportunity for students from all over Kazakhstan to learn unique skills and knowledge in the field of information security.
