Representatives of AUPET and \"Sberbank\" has signed a memorandum of cooperation

On December 23, 2021, a memorandum of cooperation with the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev was signed at Sberbank. This became possible thanks to the joint work to support talented youth “SberLAB 2021”, as part of the implementation of the items of the Address of President Tokayev. There, the importance of nurturing young personnel for the IT sector of Kazakhstan was noted.

14 students of "AUPET" take part in "SberLAB 2021". They study Data Science and other important sciences in depth that will help them in the future in building a successful career. “We have created a very comfortable learning environment for students. Our experts see how they try to master complex skills in programming and data management. This knowledge will be useful to them in the future. We would like to thank AUPET for such cooperation. We hope that these students will soon become part of Sberbank,” said Shamil Bibekov, managing director of Sberbank for strategy, marketing and HR.

After the signing of the memorandum, a tour of the Sberbank office was held. The official delegation of "AUPET" was shown the work of the IT department, they also talked about the latest challenges in HR. “We are experiencing a shortage of personnel. Many graduates lack practical skills and knowledge in IT, which is a serious problem. Therefore, we strive to continue to cooperate with "AUPET", as we need adjustments in the areas of testing, product development and programming in Java. We also wanted to offer you to conduct guest lectures, where our specialists will teach your students relevant disciplines, talk about our libraries and databases,” said Lalita Voskanyan, chief specialist of the HR Department. 

University representative, Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Sergei Konshin expressed his readiness to help Sberbank not only on these issues. “We are ready to give you the opportunity to open a competence center and laboratory of Sberbank on the basis of AUPET. We have successful examples of cooperation with Huawei, CISCO, Microsoft and many other international IT giants. And now we can lay down Sberbank disciplines that are relevant for the market, that is, within the framework of existing disciplines, introduce your program. We are confident that this will solve the problem for you in the constant shortage of high-quality IT specialists,” he said.

The memorandum signed today between AUPET and Sberbank opens a new page of cooperation and interaction for the sake of achieving quality education. It will also help to prepare students for practical work in the IT banking sector.
