Victory of AUPET in the competition \"Huawei ICT Kazakhstan 2021-2022\"

On December 24, 2021, students of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev won the competition "Huawei ICT Kazakhstan 2021-2022". “Today we are glad to honor these young people who took the first step to become part of Huawei. And we hope that tomorrow you will enter the IT elite of Kazakhstan,” said Vladislav Vaytsman, Director of the Department for Work with the Financial Sector of Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan, during the opening ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition.

Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan is a leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and Intelligent Devices in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT / ICT). Huawei's certification system is well-known around the world and is becoming the standard for improving ICT talent. To promote ICT technology certification by developing ICT industry talents and a strong ecosystem, Huawei invites colleges and universities in Kazakhstan annually to participate in the competition.

The company predicts that in the next 10 years, there will be an acute shortage of 7 million ICT specialists worldwide. Therefore, the opening of the Huawei Academy ICT on the basis of AUPET is the right decision. Here students gain unique knowledge and skills in Big Data, Cloud Computing + Cloud Service, Datacom and ICT Infrastructure. But to get the coveted certificate from Huawei, you need to try very hard. “I prepared thoroughly in all directions. Thanks to "AUPET" I studied many disciplines that helped me while passing the certification exams. And it is a great honor to be here. I thank the university and our wonderful trainers-curators,” said student Islambek Baratzhanov, who took first place in the Network Track direction, during the award ceremony. Ruslan Mukhamedov took the third place. The top ten includes Ilya Savenkov, Ksenia Nakrainikova and Mikhail Kuznetsov.

Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan awarded the trainers-curators of AUPET, namely: Senior Lecturer of the IT Engineering Department Viktor Aleksandrovich Tailakov and Associate Professor of the IT Engineering Department Tatyana Viktorovna Golubeva. They became the best trainers at the Huawei ICT Kazakhstan 2021-2022 competition. And as it was said by the representatives of the company, they have done a very serious job to make the University-based Huawei Academy part of the global ecosystem of Huawei Technologies talent. “From AUPET, we would like to thank the Huawei team and present them with letters of thanks for their invaluable contribution to the development of the Academy,” said associate professor of the department Tatyana Golubeva during the award ceremony.

And the senior lecturer of the department Viktor Tailakov said that during the training of students, the peculiarities of technologies and standards in the field of ICT were taken into account, and a number of issues in technical translation were also analyzed. The coach-curators broke through the ceiling and revealed in the children the ability to solve extremely complex technical problems, which gave them confidence in their own strength. Tailakov even gave an example of one student who, after winning another competition from Huawei, decided to stay to study at AUPET. He also said that at the Huawei Academy, students from Kazakh-speaking and Russian-speaking groups managed to overcome the language barrier and began to help each other in their studies. “Thanks to this, it became easier for the children from the southern regions to study in Russian. The guys from the Russian-speaking groups became interested in the Kazakh language. They pull each other up in many ways. And I am sure that tomorrow Russian-speaking students, thanks to such life experience, will quickly join the Kazakh-speaking work collectives. It's just wonderful,” said the senior lecturer of the department Viktor Tailakov.

In addition, the Huawei Academy based on AUPET provides an opportunity to communicate with industrial companies and receive information on the latest global technological trends. Students undergo industry standard training to help them in the profession. This cooperation between AUPET and Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan stimulates educational, scientific and applied activities in the field of ICT, and also popularizes best practices in this area.
At the end of the event, AUPET alumnus and marketing manager at Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan Albina Smagulova gave useful advice to students: “My advice to future students: always do not be lazy to acquire new knowledge and take on any job. Unfortunately, now students have a habit of waiting for the desired vacancy and not seeing the prospects around. You need not be afraid to acquire new knowledge. "

The competition "Huawei ICT Kazakhstan 2021-2022" was held in the two cities: Nur-Sultan and Almaty. The students competed in two disciplines: Network Track and Cloud Track. More than 1600 students showed interest in participating in the competition. 58 people went to the "National Final of the Competition". Top 10 Network Track Students and Top 3 Cloud Track Students have been identified. They will be awarded from Huawei. Three teams will have the opportunity to participate in the Regional Round of the competition and then travel to the "International Final" in the city of Shenzhen, China.
