Appeal from Altai State University in connection with the Almaty tragedy

 

Dear colleagues and friends!

The first days of the new year in Kazakhstan began with tragic events: peace and tranquility in the country were violated and a threat to the safety of life and health of citizens arose. Unfortunately, there were no casualties. In these troubled days, we appeal to all representatives of universities in Kazakhstan, members of the Association of Asian Universities, with words of sincere support.

Sharing the anxiety and pain for the fate of all Kazakhstanis, we are confident that the wisdom and unity of the Kazakh people and the will of the country's leadership will make it possible to overcome the crisis as soon as possible, restore peace, tranquility and national harmony.

Our common long-term activity as part of the Association of Asian Universities shows that the unification of universities contributes not only to the creation of international teams, the development of scientific and educational projects, but also allows us to create and maintain such a solid foundation of friendly human relations. It is difficult, and sometimes impossible, to destroy in times of political upheaval.

We sincerely believe, dear colleagues, that thanks to our scientific, educational, and most importantly, human ties, we will stand together in these difficult times. We will certainly continue our cooperation in the coming year.
