AUPET has improved positions in the international ranking “Webometrics”

In January 2022, the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev (AUPET) improved its position in the international rating of presence in the Internet space “Webometrics”. It rose from 43 to 26 position among 128 universities in Kazakhstan.

"AUES" has improved its performance on such criteria as "Openness". It is calculated from the number of citations from the University website of the top authors of the Google Scholar Citations service. And "Visibility" (Visibility of Impact), calculated from the number of external sources linking to the university website.

For AUPET, participation in the international rating “Webometrics” is a strategically important tool. It allows you to track the position of the university in the World Wide Web, as well as the quality of its information availability and scientific achievements in comparison with other universities in the country and the world.

The International Ranking “Webometrics” is a composite score calculated by the Cybermetrics Lab, a division of the Superior Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) of Spain. The purpose of the rating is to increase the presence of higher education institutions on the Internet and to promote the open publication of the results of scientific activities. The rating appeared in 2004 and is updated every January and July. It currently ranks about 31,000 universities from over 200 countries.
