Round table in honor of the 80th anniversary of Professor German Gennadyevich Trofimov

On February 9, 2022, a round table in honor of the 80th anniversary of Professor German Gennadyevich Trofimov was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. “On behalf of AUPET, on behalf of the entire teaching staff, thousands of students and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on this significant anniversary. Analyzing your biography, I would like to note that the most difficult time fell on your leadership - the transition period after the collapse of the USSR, the reduction in funding for science and education. Thanks to you, the university managed to survive in such difficult conditions. In addition, you stood at the origins of the energy industry of independent Kazakhstan. And to this day you are in a creative search. You are working to strengthen international relations, teaching and preparing new generations of power engineers. We are very grateful to you for the experience of participating in the development of the Institute for Advanced Studies. And may your thoughts never fade away. We wish you good health and new achievements,” said Saule Savetovna Sagintayeva, the Rector of AUPET.

Friends and colleagues congratulated his dear hero of the day. “I came from a family of power engineers. My dad was the chief power engineer of the Kirov plant. My uncle was the rector of Moscow University. I am glad to continue this tradition. My daughter and niece are energy engineers by education. I would like to thank my family for their support and for creating all the conditions to work. I am very pleased to hear your congratulations. AUPET is my life.
