We congratulate you on International Women Day!

Dear women! Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on International Women's Day! This wonderful holiday is dedicated not only to beauty and kindness, but also bears a reminder that one must strive for complete equality between a man and a woman. Together to overcome the gender imbalance in many sectors of the economy and achieve the observance of women's rights, regardless of age, nationality, race and religion, marital status. All forms of discrimination against women must be eliminated.

In recent years, positive developments in this area have been taking place at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. More than 500 women work in the Administration and Institutes, and this is 61% of the teaching staff and ordinary personnel. They, along with male representatives, make a worthy contribution to modern technical education.

It is gratifying to know that more than one and a half thousand female students study at the bachelor's degree at AUPET, who master technical specialties in order to become engineers, communications workers, roboticists and IT specialists after graduation. This is a clear indicator of progress in the field of access to quality education for young women in Kazakhstan.

A smaller percentage of the women (27%) still remains in the Master's programs. A relatively equal number of men and women (31 men and 32 women) has been established in doctoral studies. Overall, this indicates a slow movement towards gender balance among academic and advanced degree recipients.

Considering the above statistics, it can be argued that in AUPET, as well as in the energy, industrial and high-tech sectors of the economy in general, there are positive trends in favor of women mastering those professions that were previously considered purely masculine. And thousands of the fair sex are already working for the benefit of the development of an industrially strong Kazakhstan.

Once again, I congratulate the women on the holiday, I congratulate all the women of Kazakhstan. Health, happiness, love and joy!
