Actual Problems and Innovations in the Modern World

On February 28, 2022, the Department for Language Studies of Non-profit JSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" held a grand event online on the Zoom platform within the framework of the university. It was a scientific conference on a foreign language "Actual Problems and Innovations in the Modern World." Such events allow students to significantly broaden their horizons, to improve their speech in a foreign language and to develop many useful skills.

First-year students took part in the conference. They made presentations in English and German on issues of modern science, among which topics in the field of Ecology, Electrical Engineering, Heat Power Engineering, Space Engineering and Information Technology were. Some participants presented their own scientific projects at the conference.

 For this event, the faculty of the department chose the best students. The participants worked very hard and prepared properly. They not only picked up relevant, interesting material, but also thoroughly worked it out, passed it through themselves, provided it in an accessible, understandable and exciting form, with colorful presentations, diagrams, drawings and photographs, processed and structured the available information. In addition, I would like to note the speech of the students. Many students spoke a foreign language clearly, understandably, and accessible. Individual students showed excellent public speaking skills. Some of the reports could just be listened to. In general, the competition committee enjoyed all the performances immensely.

The participants showed themselves not only as potentially good specialists, but also as bright personalities. We are proud that such talents are being developed at our university.
