The private space company “Eurasian Space Ventures and the Kazakhstan Institute of Project Management” announced this on March 9 at a joint briefing by the “National Center for Space Research and Technology”. “Space technologies have become the daily life of mankind. They have cellular communications, remote sensing of the earth and various aspects of satellite navigation. Specialists of various profiles are needed in the development of these technologies. Therefore, it is extremely important to help young people and children find their vocation in teaching a profession as early as possible, support their desire for creative search and discovery, and provide all opportunities for the realization of their talents. It is for this purpose that the international competition Kazakhstan Smart Space is being held,” said Marat Nurguzhin, Chairman of the Board of JSC “National Center for Space Research and Technology”.
Students of colleges and universities, students of schools and additional circles aged 7 to 22, in a team with teachers, parents and mentors, can take part in the competition. Shukhrat Ibragimov, CEO of the private space company “Eurasian Space Ventures”, member of the board of directors of the Eurasian Bank, said that the competition will allow not only young talents to prove themselves, but also businesses to find potential personnel. “Today, we are primarily interested in finding young people in the regions who dream of linking their future with space research and projects. This competition provides such an opportunity and opens up prospects for them to implement the most daring ideas. We are already attracting international start-ups and established companies to the ESV space hub incubator to develop aerospace technologies. Today, the pace of digitalization is accelerating and will definitely never stop. The space industry is also developing. The competition will allow to continue the development of the industry and show the whole world what Kazakhstan and regional specialists are capable of in this area,” Ibragimov believes. He also noted that the lack of talented personnel today is not in their deficit, but in the absence of a platform on which creative youth will demonstrate their abilities. The competition is meant to be such a platform. “After the competition for the best startup is over, we will select the winners, whose project we can help develop and bring to the international level,” Ibragimov said.
There is still time to apply - they will be accepted until March 15. Then the competitive selection of participants will be held. The final will be held from April 8 to April 10, 2022 at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev.
Oleg Parakhin, President of the Kazakhstan Institute “Project Management” and General Director of Elite Personnel Holding, spoke about many years of support and implementation of projects aimed at developing Kazakhstani students, including school and university technological entrepreneurship. He noted that in the near future, the well-being of our country and the level of its perception by the world community will depend on the level of these people. Therefore, it is very important to help the younger generation find their calling as early as possible, support the desire for creative search and discovery, and provide opportunities for the realization of talents. On April 9, within the framework of the competition, it is planned to hold a round table on the topic "Children and space" on the subject of "space" engineering education in schools, dedicated to the Year of Children in Kazakhstan.
