“Strong education and strong knowledge opens all doors!”. Guest lecture by Zhanibek Baidulla, participant of the Bolashak program, at AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev

A guest lecture by the director of technology consulting at “CSI”, Zhanibek Baidulla, was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev on March 31, 2022. The “Career Center” organized this event for students.

In his lecture, Zhanibek Baidulla spoke about the latest trends in the digitalization of the energy industry. He shared his memories of studying in the UK under the Bolashak program.

“Over the past 10-15 years, digitalization has turned all aspects of human life upside down. In the energy industry, financial costs at the stage of digitization and hardware formation are high. The foundation for analytical work is being formed in the future. We have identified many facts of unauthorized connection to the power grid in Nur-Sultan. Digitalization of the energy industry only contributes to increasing transparency and reducing the level of corruption, Baidulla noted.

Zhanibek Baidulla also touched upon the advantage of the digital economy over the real one. "The electronic payment system PayPal earns more than Deutsche Bank, and the financial potential of PayPal is commensurate with Kazakhstan. Now you need to prepare yourself not to work in Kazakhstan, but in international companies. For example, I once, sitting in Kazakhstan, managed to make calculations for one energy company, which was located in Canada,” he advised the students.

At the end of the lecture, Zhanibek Baidulla said that "the current testing system in Kazakhstan does not contribute to the development of critical thinking in a young person." “When I was studying in the UK, I failed my essay by not answering just one question. I remember how I sat and looked at fellow students from Israel, Germany and other countries who easily wrote their essays (some of them wrote six pages already). I sat and tried to articulate my thoughts about renewable energy. Yes, I flunked the exam, but then they gave me a chance. Therefore, develop critical thinking, and remember that a strong education and sound knowledge opens all doors!” he advised.

After his lecture, Director of Technology Consulting at “CSI” Zhanibek Baidully shared his contacts. He asked AUPET students to send their resumes to his office mail. He said that "the company needs smart and talented young people who will definitely contribute to the development of the digital economy and the entire energy industry in Kazakhstan."
