AUPET DELEGATION IN POLAND.Issues discussed: student exchange and joint research

 

The first day of the working visit to the Polish city Wroclaw of the delegation of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere on April 4.

The organizer of the business trip of AUPET representatives to Poland is the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, with which a memorandum of cooperation was signed in October last year. One of the main tasks of the agency is to expand and develop contacts between Wroclaw universities and foreign higher education institutions. The AUPET delegation is headed by the Rector, Professor Saule Sagintayeva.

The working visit began on April 4 with a visit to the Wrocław Technology Park. Dominik Mazhets, director of the department “Business support”, told what is being done to ensure mutually beneficial cooperation between business structures and the academic and university environment. During the discussion and exchange of views, Dominik Mazhets shared his experience of interacting with universities and attracting students to entrepreneurial activities and assisting them in the implementation of various projects. The dialogue in the technopark, on the one hand, has become an important step for cooperation and the implementation of possible joint projects between Kazakh scientists and Polish companies and universities. At the same time, the meeting was useful in terms of organizing the work of students to develop their startups at AUPET.

The next dialogue took place with the leadership of the agency for the development of the Wroclaw agglomeration, headed by Magdalena Okulowska. Director of the project “Study in Wroclaw” Miroslav Lebed presented the directions of activities for the development of cooperation with foreign universities. In turn, the director of the international relations department, Madina Aliyarova, in her presentation spoke about the achievements and potential of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. Then the Rector of AUPET Saule Sagintayeva expressed her vision of possible areas of cooperation. Within the framework of one of them, the head of the Department “Automation and Control”, Igor Fedorenko, shared his experience in creating competence centers on the basis of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications together with such world-famous companies as “Schneider Electric, “Siemens”, “Honeywell”, “National Instruments” and others.

Another meeting of the AUPET delegation took place on April 4 in Wroclaw at the University of Natural Sciences. The Vice-Rector for Internationalization of this higher educational institution Anna Helmonska-Soita spoke about the educational and research activities of the university. During the dialogue, the parties outlined ways of cooperation with the Faculty “Environmental Engineering” of the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw.

On April 5, the AUPET delegation visited the Polytechnic University - the famous Wroclaw Polytechnic, met with its leadership and visited the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. And on April 6, representatives of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications are already expected in Germany.
