“You are in the think tank of the Almaty energy hub\".Future Electrical engineers have visited JSC \"Alatau Zharyk Company\"

On April 7, 2022, students of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev visited the office of  JSC  "Alatau Zharyk Company" and the Ermensai substation. This event was organized by the Career Center as part of the career guidance and educational program Job trip. Honored Electrical engineer of Kazakhstan and lecturer of AUPET Madiyar Kulbegenov was their guide. “Today, the company provides electricity to the population of Almaty and the Almaty region. About 4,000 employees work in the company, many of them were at the very beginnings of the industry. We cultivate a professional and responsible attitude to work here. Thanks to our specialists, we managed to avoid a catastrophe during the accident at the Syrdarya TPP,” he said.

The students were shown the Central Control Room. “You are in the think tank of the Almaty Energy Center and you are the first public visitors here. 4 dispatchers work in the center. They control 10 districts. Today we have 126 substations, but only 3 are modern. Modernization is slow. We have a problem with generating enough electricity. Therefore, we need a nuclear power plant in South Kazakhstan,” said Chief Dispatcher Stanislav Alexandrov.

Then the students were taken to the equipment repair workshop, showed them how transformers are repaired, and also talked about the properties of transformer oil. “You might have noticed a burned-out, black transformer right at the entrance. This happens when the oil is not filled enough. We investigate and analyze each such case,” said Aidyn Sarsenbayev, deputy head of the workshop. Mars Ilipbaev, head of the workshop, wished the children success in their studies and expressed hope that tomorrow they would become members of a large and friendly team of  JSC "Alatau Zharyk Company" .

The tour ended with a visit to the Ermensai substation. “The impressions are very good. We looked at the equipment at the substation. I have not seen this, but the students now saw this equipment live, and not the circuits. They caught the enthusiasm from the employees of the company. Thank you very much to the Career Center for this tour!” said Irina Kazanina, Associate Professor of the Department "Power Supply and Renewable Energy Sources".
