Round table \"Digitalization of the energy sector is the path to sustainable development of the industry\"

On April 12, 2022, the round table "Digitalization of the energy industry is the path to sustainable development of the industry" was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev.

- Dear colleagues! Our round table today is dedicated to the “Day of Scientist”. “I want to congratulate all our colleagues on the Day of Kazakhstan Science. Science is one of the most important conditions for the development of the country, the engine of progress. The development of domestic science is in the center of attention of the state. The President instructed to adopt the Science Development Concept for 2022/2026 by the end of April. Over the past two years, funding for science has doubled. The duration of research funding has been extended to five years. An unprecedented new fellowship program for 500 scientists has allowed five of our staff (scholars) to complete fellowships this year at leading research centers in the US and UK. Over the past three years, 13 of our employees have received PhD degrees. Currently, the university has 125 Candidate of Science, 43 PhDs and 30 Doctors of Science. 42% of our employees have scientific degrees. 227 Masters of Science work with us. They are the scientific potential, which should give such a positive impetus to the development of science in our university in the near future. 62 students study PhD programs. 398 people study Master's programs. Scientists of our university make scientific projects in all priority areas. There are rational use of natural resources, infocommunication technologies, energy and mechanical engineering, information security. Our young scientists will talk about current developments in the digitalization of the energy industry.” - said the Rector Saule Sagintayeva.
