On April 20, 2022, a scientific seminar was held at the Department of Social Disciplines. The theme was: "Social problems of youth in modern society". Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Branch “People's Party of Kazakhstan” Sultangaliyev Tamerlan Melsovich; chairman of the representative office of the Nauryzbai regional branch of the “People's Party of Kazakhstan”; Candidate of Political Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Branch of the Public Association “People's Party of Kazakhstan” Zhusipov Bakhyt Sailaubayevich, as well as teachers of the Department of Social Disciplines - Doctor of Political Sciences Mukhambedyarova Altynai Tuleuovna; Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Abrahmatova Gulnar Abraykulovna and specialists of the office "Rukhani Zhangyru" of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev took part in the seminar.

The theme of the scientific seminar was not chosen by chance. The youth is not only the future, it is the “living present”, and it is important to understand how much the younger generation today determines the content and nature of the future, how much it carries the “spirit of the new time”.

Youth occupies an important place in social relations, the production of material and spiritual wealth. However, its position in society and the degree of its participation in creative activities directly depend on the actions of society and the state. The problems of modern youth are becoming more and more urgent in our time. The main social problems are:

-bad habits (alcoholism, drug addiction, smoking);

-juvenile delinquency;

-Unemployment and many others.

According to the unanimous opinion of the participants of the scientific seminar, the solution of social problems arising in the youth sphere cannot be implemented without the organization of social work, the deployment of social services for minors and youth. When organizing the activities of social services for minors and youth, a whole range of measures must be implemented. The current development of modern society requires a radical revision of the entire policy of the state and the education of youth in relation to data and other social problems, as well as the re-education of the adult population as an authority for youth. The event aroused a lively response and interest from the student youth of the university. During the scientific seminar the following questions were asked: in what directions is the youth policy developing in our country? What problematic aspects are topical at present? What are the prospects for Kazakh youth today? What are the values ​​of today's youth? What are the social problems of youth in modern society?

Summing up the results of the scientific seminar, the participants of the event noted that with the beginning of socio-economic transformations, Kazakhstani youth faced new challenges. Their solution requires every young person to have a personal worldview and follow them in his life. Among modern priorities there is a trend “brilliant, high-quality education”. Education is the highest value, the priority of the worldview attitudes of the young generation. This is the motivational and cultural component of society, human capital, the way to overcome the financial and spiritual crisis. The trend "creative, mobile personality" is a successful, dynamic, innovative economy of Kazakhstan. It will be created on the basis of the education of creative, mobile personalities capable of generating and implementing new competency-based ideas, able to find and make non-standard solutions, having a desire for creative self-realization of human internal resources, their embodiment in life. The trend is “competitive, professional personality”. This trend involves the education of people of a new formation, aimed at achieving success, able to choose the most rational and morally justified path that contributes to the development of professional and life careers. The trend "high information culture" is the current level of mastering new information technologies, the ability of a person to systematize, analyze, process the colossal information base available to a person of the 21st century, the use of its data in a moral and ethical aspect for personal and professional growth. The “clear life strategy” trend is the life goal-setting of the main guidelines, the building of a certain life concept of a person. The trend of "high competence" is the desire for continuous identification of one's unlimited opportunities for personal growth; the ability of a person to adequately assess life situations from the point of view of their own and generally significant values. The “personal growth” trend is a process of internal changes, self-improvement, overcoming conflicts (external, internal), revealing personal potential that does not have a logical conclusion, and the implementation of the designated tasks.
