The French attache has paid an official visit to the AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev

On April 27, 2022, the regional attaché for education of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan, Xavier Le Torrivellec, paid an official visit to AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. Vice-Rector for Academic Afctivities S. Konshin, Director of the Department "International Cooperation and Academic Mobility" M. Aliyarova, Director of the Institute of Electricity and Electrical Engineering T Zh. Abdimuratov, Director of the Institute of Information Technology A. Doszhanova, Director of the Institute of Telecommunications and Space Engineering K. Alipbaev, Director of the Institute heat power and control systems A. Begimbetov welcomed the highly respected guest.

In his speech, Vice-Rector S. Konshin spoke about the strengths of the university and outlined a tangible route for mutually beneficial cooperation with the French Embassy. “Mr. Xavier Le Torrivellec,” he said, “welcome to the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev! Today we cooperate with 7-8 French universities.  Our master is studying at the Sorbonne under the doctoral program. We understand the whole perspective that will open up after our meeting. We want to work with France. We are ready to host French students and faculty, and we could also jointly open a French class at AUPET. We will be happy to help in popularizing the French language in Kazakhstan!”.

The regional attache in response thanked Vice-Rector S. Konshin for his proposal. “Dear Sergey Vladimirovich,” he said, “I supervise not only Kazakhstan, but also Kyrgyzstan. The French Embassy is committed to work with proven players in the education market. AUES meets all requirements. We will be glad to cooperate with you on many issues. As for the Sorbonne and major French universities... A unique system of education exists in France, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Under Napoleon, higher schools were created, which today are compact but efficient universities. AUPET could work with them, as there is less bureaucracy there. This is my advice. You could also work with French companies and develop educational programs with them. In addition, we are open to help your students. Our logic is to support talented and motivated people. I am sure that such students study at AUPET!”.

The French guest was shown the laboratories and the educational process. He asked clarifying questions and was impressed with the AUPET infrastructure. At the end the parties reaffirmed their positive attitude towards further cooperation and thanked each other for a fruitful meeting.
