Professor German Trofimov has received a letter of thanks from the Rector of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev

On April 29, 2022, Rector Saule Sagintayeva congratulated Professor German Gennadyevich Trofimov on his 80th birthday and awarded him a letter of thanks at Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after   Gumarbek Daukeyev. “80 years is a wonderful date! As a Rector, you have made a great contribution. We will always remember this!” she said.

This is Professor Trofimov's first visit to Kazakhstan since 2019. “Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I had to stay in Israel. In recent years I have been living in this country, but my heart is always in the most beautiful city in the world - Almaty! AUPET is my whole life! I would like to thank you for organizing the celebration of my anniversary at AUPET. I was glad that everything was carried out at the highest level,” he said.

Professor Trofimov also met with his colleagues, associates and friends. “A terrible emergency happened in my time. I appealed to law enforcement agencies to put an end to hazing in the hostel, but everything was to no avail. It was a very difficult time. I decided to apply to the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a proposal that we provide rooms for the families of officers in our hostel. I told the officers: we don't charge you, but put things in order! A month later hazing was stopped in the hostel. After some time, our hostel was recognized by the akimat as the best in the whole city,” he shared his memories.
