The Day of the State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
Faculty of the Department "Social Disciplines" of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev congratulates you on the upcoming holiday - the Day of the State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
On the eve of the holiday - the Day of State Symbols, I want to study our history once. Kazakhstan has come a long way to its independence. Kazakhstan of the past was the historical homeland of the brave Turkic tribes, glorious batyrs, wise akyns and hardworking people. Thousands of people fought for the freedom of our country, many of them died for the future of their homeland. “The entire centuries-old history from the time of the ancient Scythians, Huns, Oguzes, Saks, Usuns, Kangly, Kypchaks and up to yesterday’s tragic Zheltoksan is a chronicle of our struggle for the honor and independence of the Motherland.” “The Kazakhs are a people who have inherited and preserved on the land of their ancestors a large ancestral yurt of the Turkic world.”
Kazakhstan survived tsarism, Kazakhstanis did a lot to win during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. They were part of the Soviet people, they took an active part in the development of virgin and fallow lands, the development of the economy. The generation of our parents participated in gaining independence by Kazakhstan. It began on December 16, 1991 with the adoption of the Constitutional Law "On State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the announcement of the date of Independence Day. At present, we are witnessing how the young state is growing stronger, how history is being made.
On June 4, the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of State Symbols: Flag, Coat of Arms, Anthem. They reflect our history, culture, demonstrate the unique identity of the country and serve as an expression of the self-awareness of its citizens. Let's remember the history of the creation of State symbols. More than 600 people offered their ideas for the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the competition for the symbols of the state in 1992.
The national flag is the state symbol of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is a rectangular panel of blue color. It is traditional for the Turkic peoples, with an image in the center of the sun with 32 rays, under which there is a soaring eagle. There is a vertical stripe with a national ornament near the shaft. There are an image of the sun with rays, an eagle and a gold-colored national ornament. The author of the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the Honored Art Worker of Kazakhstan Shaken Niyazbekov.
The State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the shape of a circle and is an image of a shanyrak on a blue background, from which uyks radiate in all directions in the form of sunbeams. Images of mythical winged horses are located to the right and left of the shanyrak. A volumetric five-pointed star is located in the upper part, and the inscription "Kazakhstan" is in the lower part. There are an image of a star, shanyrak, uyks, mythical horses, as well as the inscription "Kazakhstan" in gold color.
Famous architects Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shot-Aman Valikhanov are the authors of the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the 1992 competition for symbols, the authors submitted more than 293 sketches of the coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For 25 years of independence, the national emblem has not undergone any changes. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan proposed the idea of placing a five-pointed star on the coat of arms. Initially, in place of the five-pointed star, the author of the coat of arms suggested placing the moon or the sun.
The anthem of Kazakhstan, previously known as the song "Menin Kazakstanym", was approved by the Parliament of the country on January 6, 2006 at the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was first heard on January 11, 2006, during the solemn inauguration of the Head of State. Composer Shamshi Kaldayakov is the author of the music, Zhumeken Nazhimedenov and Nursultan Nazarbayev wrote the lyrics of the anthem.
The author of the national flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan maintains close relations with our university. On November 4, 2008, Honored Art Worker, First Secretary of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, Secretary of the Union of Artists of the USSR, author of the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shaken Niyazbekov met with teachers and students of the AUPET named after G. Daukeyev.
Today, we, faculty and students of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, look confidently into the future. We know that we are citizens of a vast country where Man is at the forefront, where history is honored, old age is respected, and youth is believed.
“How rich he is to this day, the Land of my sedate great-grandfathers.”
These words of J. Moldagaliev do not lose their relevance. Our region is rich not only in natural and raw materials. This is the spirit of the ancestors - honor, sacred historical memory, traditional hospitality, Kazakh patriotism, humane ethnic and spiritual culture - these are our main wealth.

WE ARE PATRIOTS!
The Day of State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which we celebrate, is a holiday of the unity of the nation and achievements
country's independence
The history of the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan is closely connected with the modern history of our country. New state symbols of sovereign Kazakhstan were approved after gaining independence. June 4, 1992 will forever remain in our history and in the memory of the people as their birthday. Today, the symbols of Kazakhstan are recognizable all over the world, which causes pride in their country, instills a sense of patriotism. What is patriotism? This is love for the Motherland and the people, devotion and desire to protect the Fatherland in difficult times, pride in the achievements of one's country, the memory of the historical past of the Motherland, the desire to preserve inherited traditions and strive for a brighter future. This is a feeling of attachment to the places where a person was born and raised, a respectful attitude towards the native language and state symbols of the Republic. For patriotism, you need to know the history of your country, be proud of your ancestors and strive to be worthy of them.
We, modern Kazakhstanis, have something to be proud of: open, good-natured, tolerant people; beautiful nature; rich story; high intellectual potential; promising, educated youth. Patriotism is formed in the process of training, socialization and education. It is manifested in the actions and activities of a person. Patriotic feelings are born out of love for one's small Motherland. They go through a number of stages on the way to their maturity, they rise to national patriotic self-awareness, to the awareness of love for the Motherland, for their Fatherland. Today, the ideas of patriotic education are determined by the strategy of state policy in the choice of value-target settings for the life of society, the variety of updated educational structures. Patriotism, love for the Motherland, in our country is especially pronounced in the years of trials: a sacrificial attitude to duty, a willingness to faithfully serve the cause of the prosperity of the Fatherland. It is the duty of each of us to value and respect the Flag, Emblem and Anthem of our Republic. With them we are recognized, recognized and welcomed all over the world. Symbols are integral attributes of our state. They represent the identity and sovereignty of the country. The symbols of the country accompany each of us throughout our lives. During official ceremonies and events, the national flag is raised and the national anthem is played. It shows who we are and what we are. At competitions, symbols show that you are not alone. Behind you is your People and Motherland, who cheer for you and support you.
Kazakhstan is a multinational state. This is an advantage because we are all one. Our Motherland, friendship, respect and common culture unite us. More than seventeen million people, representatives of more than a hundred nationalities live in Kazakhstan. All Kazakhstanis have one past, one present, one future. Now the age of the new generation has arrived. The future of Kazakhstan is in the hands of the young. For this, young people must remain the bearers of their native culture. It needs to be enriched, but not depersonalized. Our task today is to put the right direction of citizenship, patriotism, to form respect for the Constitution, laws and state symbols of the Republic and to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the country. The time of independence of the republic has shown that the surest way is the transition to a civil state of society, the formation of a single people in Kazakhstan becomes the core of the national idea.
We, the people of Kazakhstan, are one people. And our common destiny is our Mangilik El, our worthy and great Kazakhstan. "Mangilik El" is the national idea of our common Kazakh home, the dream of our ancestors.
