COMPETITION FOR GRANT FINANCING OF SCIENTIFIC COMMERCIALIZATION PROJECTS HAS STARTED IN KAZAKHSTAN

A pool of promising developments with a certain commercial potential has been formed in the country over the past three years.

The best innovative goods and services based on domestic scientific developments will receive state support. They will be commercialized and promoted for export.

Scientists can receive up to 300 million tenge to implement their proposals.

Projects should cover such sectors of the economy as “Healthcare”, “Quality education”, “Digitalization”, “Geological exploration”, “Modernization of the energy complex”, “Manufacturing industry”, “Oil and gas chemical industry”, “Ecology”, “Agro-industrial complex”, "Metallurgy", "Metalworking", "Tourism" and many others.

It should be noted that innovations aimed at transparency have appeared in the ongoing competition.
Representatives of a specially created National Council for Commercialization will select projects for financing. Leading scientists, representatives of venture business, industries, experts in the field of innovation will be part of it. The Council will be approved by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the requirements of the competition, the project must be completed within three years and go on sale. Co-financing must be at least 20% of the grant amount. Teams of up to five people can take part.

Applications will start on June 6 and end on July 5, 2022. Applications can be submitted through the automated information system of JSC "National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise" - www.is.ncste.kz.det.

The list of required documents is posted on the websites of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan  (www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/sc?lang=ru), JSC "National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise"  (www.ncste.kz/ru/competition)   and  JSC "Science Fund" (ww.science-fund.kz).
