Co-chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the Bologna process is the international recognition of our higher education system

"On July 1, 2022, Kazakhstan accepted the post of co-chair of the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG), together with the Czech Republic," the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

Co-chairmanship implies the participation of our country in the meetings of the BFUG Governing Council (BFUG Board) and joint responsibility for promoting the goals and actions outlined in the Bologna Declaration.

On October 5, Kazakhstan will provide a platform for the next meeting of the BFUG Council. It is planned to raise a number of topical issues on the development of higher education, namely: the quality of education, non-formal learning, the development of teacher education.

In addition, one of the initiatives of Kazakhstan is the formation in Central Asia of a single space of higher education based on the parameters of the Bologna process.

Kazakhstan is the first Central Asian state - a member of the Bologna Declaration and a full member of the European educational space. In her interview to "The Tech", the Rector of AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev Saule Sagintayeva highly appreciated the participation of our country in the Bologna process. She noted that "the concept of mobility appeared when the Bologna process entered Kazakhstan."

At the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev, academic mobility involves the training of students for an academic period at a foreign partner university. 2nd-3rd year students of Bachelor's programs and 1st year students of Master's programs studying on a state grant and on a contractual basis can be sent to study on academic mobility.
