Guest lecture of the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty on the prevention and counteraction of religious extremism and terrorism

A guest lecture of the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty on the prevention and counteraction of religious extremism and terrorism was organized in the assembly hall of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev on November 2. The Department of Youth Policy of the University organized a lecture.

During the meeting, the lecturer explained the fundamental differences between traditional religious confessions and extremist and terrorist organizations. The invited guest told the meeting participants that the recruiters of destructive organizations only hide behind religious values, which actually have a high moral charge.

The lecturer emphasized that one of the favorite methods is the concealment and distortion of information. Young people themselves help extremists and terrorists by reading little, not being interested in the news, and not verifying the information they receive. Interesting statistics on the main areas of information search was presented.

To develop immunity against any recruiter, fraudster and manipulator, it is necessary to have moral and intellectual baggage.

The lecture aroused great interest. Our students simply bombarded the invited guest with questions. The benefits of the meeting were undeniable.
