Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor (Docent), Professor of the Department “IT Engineering” Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova celebrates her 60th birthday on January 8, 2022.

Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova graduated from Novosibirsk State University named after Lenin Komsomol, Faculty “Mechanics and Mathematics” in 1986. Her specialty was “Mathematics, Applied Mathematics”.

Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova has 36 years of scientific and pedagogical experience. She began her career in 1986 at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after V.I. Lenin at the Department “Applied Mathematics”. She worked there as a senior laboratory assistant. Since 1987, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova worked as a software engineer, then transferred to the position of a lecturer. From 1989 to 2003, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova worked as a senior lecturer at the Department “Computer Science and Applied Mathematics”.

From 2003 to 2006 Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova worked as Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Institute of Information Technologies. From 2008 to 2012, she worked as Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Information and Telecommunication Technologies at the Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpaev. From 2005 to 2016, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova worked as an associate professor of the Department “Systems and Networks Software” and the Department “Informatics” at the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev. Since 2016, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova has been an associate professor at the Department of Informatics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

From 2017 to the present, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova has been working as a professor at the Department “IT Engineering” at the Non-Profit Joint Stock Company “Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev”.

In 2003, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in the specialty: 01.01.02 "Differential Equations and Mathematical Physics". The theme of the dissertation was "Asymptotic solutions of an integral boundary value problem for a second-order linear integro-differential equation". Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasymov K.A. was her supervisor.

During her work, Aliya Ualievna has shown herself to be a competent, disciplined, qualified specialist who owns the methodology of teaching disciplines: "Numerical methods", "Optimization methods and operations research", "Algorithms and their complexity", "Discrete mathematics", "Software development technologies", "Parallel computing", "Artificial intelligence systems", "Modeling of information systems", "System analysis".

Aliya Kalizhanova completed research internships at Newcastle University (Great Britain, 2013), Lublin Technical University (Poland, 2015, 2022), Gachon University (Korea, 2015).

Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova conducts research work in scientific programs of fundamental and applied research. She is a senior researcher of the Project on the theme "Development and implementation of mathematical models, methods and tools for automated design of information systems of various classes and purposes" (No. 751.MON.GF.12.2, 2012-2014) at the Kazakh National Technical University named after K. AND. Satpaev. She is a leading researcher of the project "Models and methods for optimizing the composition, structure and functioning of intelligent distributed networks for collecting and transmitting information" (project 3313 / GF4, 2015-2017). Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova is the head of the scientific project of grant funding АР05132778 "Research and development of a signal interrogation system with a fiber optic refractometer using telecommunication networks" for 2018-2020. "Development of a system of distributed fiber-optic sensors based on fiber Bragg gratings for monitoring the state of building structures" (2020-2023).

Kalizhanova A.U. regularly participates in scientific seminars, international and world conferences (WCETR-2012, Cyprus, WCIT-2013, Barcelona, WASET-2013, USA, ICSAS-2015, South Korea, INASE-2017, Prague, AMCSE-2018, Rome, China 2021, UBMK 2022 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, Turkey 2022, etc.).

Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova has more than 150 scientific papers, including scientific publications with a non-zero impact factor, indexed in the international information resources Thomson Reuters (64, Hirsch index 4) and Scopus (95, Hirsch index 9), as well as in publications recommended Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 3 monographs, 3 manuals, 7 copyright certificates for intellectual property rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, patents.

1 PhD (2017) was trained under the guidance of Aliya Kalizhanova. Currently, Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova is the supervisor of 2 students of PhD programs and a lot of students of Master’s programs.

Aliya Ualievna was awarded the title of "Best Teacher of the University" (2020). She was awarded the diploma “Algys” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2019), the medal of the Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpaev "For outstanding work" (2014). She has certificates of honor and gratitude. Aliya Ualiyevna Kalizhanova is a full member of the International Informatization Academy, a professor at the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
