The opening ceremony of the experimental design laboratory of Non-profit JSC \"Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev \"NextGen Engineering\"
The opening ceremony of the experimental design laboratory "NextGen Engineering" of Non-profit JSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" (AUPET) was held on the territory of JSC " Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant" on February 13, 2023.
The opening ceremony of the center was attended by:
Kazakh public figure, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan of the 4th and 5th convocations, ex-vice minister of the Ministry of Education and Science, Murat Abdulamitovich Abenov.
JSC "Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant": General Director - Kanatbaev Maksat Aptizhapbarovich; Head of Sales Department - Tulemisov Ermek Kashkinbaevich; Head of Quality Control Service - Kiyatov Batyrbek Zhamshekhanovich.
Non-profit JSC “AUPET” : Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities Almaz Abzhalievich Saukhimov; Director of the Institute of Telecommunications and Space Engineering Kuanysh Aringozhaevich Alipbaev; Director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrotechnics Zhubanysh Suinullaevich Abdimuratov; Head of the Department “Energy Supply and Renewable Energy Sources” Kazhibek Tleugalievich Tergemes.
Murat Abdulamitovich said in his speech about the need to develop the creative industry and produce high value-added products of JSC "Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant". The parties agreed to establish a center for prototyping and modeling of manufactured products on the territory of JSC "Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant". Also, representatives of the plant agreed to support the development of student Startup competitions aimed at creating innovative technological products.
The laboratory has been established as part of a partnership between AUPET and JSC "Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant" with the aim of professional training of engineering staff, exchange of practical experience and knowledge in the field of energy, engineering communications and mechanical engineering and the creation of joint design offices for the development and design of innovative equipment.
The idea of opening an experimental design laboratory at JSC "Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant" came as part of cooperation between organizations. Its purpose was to acquaint the students of the AUPET Сollege with the profile specialties "Automation Technician", " Electrician Technician " with modern production at the plant and attract qualified employees. The relevance of creating a laboratory is due to the need for modern diagnostics of plant equipment, the creation of digital technical data sheets for equipment, as well as in connection with the reconstruction and modernization of existing technological complexes.
The laboratory is to become a key element for joint research in the digitalisation of discrete production, developing the most efficient technologies for collecting, storing and handling production data, and improving approaches to transforming production and business processes. In parallel, the parties will also cooperate in training personnel to work in the digital transformation of industry.
The laboratory "NextGen Engineering" is located on the territory of JSC "Almaty Heavy Engineering Plant". It is equipped with three high-performance computers with installed licensed software systems for the following technologies: 3D design, Internet of things (IoT), Big data analytics. These technologies allow heavy machinery plants to monitor their equipment in real time, identifying potential problems before they become serious. This not only improves maintenance and repair processes, but also helps extend the life of existing equipment.
