Learn by doing science

On February 22, 2023, the Department for Language Studies of  the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev  held an annual scientific conference: "Actual problems and innovations in the modern world" on the problems of science and  technology.

The aims of the Conference: to develop students’ abilities in speaking and in listening; to increase students’ interest in learning a foreign language; to encourage students to  communicate effectively and appropriately, to share and discuss research findings, to exchange ideas and insights.

It was challenging to choose the worthiest winners due to high motivation, excellent command of grammar, vocabulary and terminology of  all  participants. Students take   part  in  the  Conference  with  great  interest  and  enthusiasm, where  they  demonstrated  their knowledge of  the  language  and  the  ability  to use it  in  practice. It is known that  a confident  command  of  English  is  nowadays   considered  as  a  serious competitive  advantage, allowing  to  open  new  horizons  for  future  students who  want  to  study, travel  and  meet    people in  different countries  of  the  world.

There were interesting and relevant topics such as: «Unlocking the future: Exploring New Technology» «Internet of things Automation on its peak», «Stopping the evolution of humanity and its degradation», «Home Automation using PLC».

 According to the results of the conference:

The first place was shared by  Nuskabay Sandugash from the group ISSk-22-9, Aibar Temirlan from the group ACe-22-9;
the second place was taken by Satikul Nurakhmet from the group ISSe -22-16, Akhmetkaliyev Ilyas from the group EES 22-3 and Tleuberdi Nyrly from group ACe-22-9;
the third Zinagazov Zerde from the group PIк-22-1, Nurdaulet Rakhim from the group EEк-22-8 and Muratova Kamilla from the group ISS -20-3.
