Solemn completion of a pilot course on public procurement called \"Transparent and Sustainable Public Procurement\"

AUPET named after G. Daukeev held a solemn completion of a pilot course on public procurement called "Transparent and Sustainable Public Procurement". This course was developed by an initiative group of university teachers, including professors Satova R.K. and Baitenov L.M., as well as the teacher Nurmuratov L.S. and was aimed at increasing the level of transparency, competitiveness and efficiency in public procurement. The courses were held in the autumn semester of 2022 and attracted a wide audience, including faculty, staff, undergraduates and students of AUPET. During the course, participants learned key aspects of public procurement, including ethical, legal and economic aspects, as well as methods to increase the transparency and sustainability of public procurement.

At the ceremony, which took place on February 17, 2022, graduates of the course were presented with memorable gifts and certificates of completion of the course for their scientific essays on various topics in the field of public procurement.

The pilot course also allowed the project initiators to test the innovative Syllabus, which is a 5-credit compulsory discipline available to AUET first-year undergraduates in the spring semester of 2023. The course will train students in sustainable public procurement methods and build their practical skills to participate in public procurement.

The project was implemented jointly with the Public Foundation "Digital Society" with the support of the Representative Office of the Eurasia Foundation within the framework of the USAID Social Innovations program. Technical assistance to this initiative was provided by the international organization Open Contracting Partnership from Washington, USA, which promotes global standards for the transparency of public procurement in more than 50 countries around the world.

AUPET named after G. Daukeev, the flagship of higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of electrical engineering, telecommunications and industrial automation, is actively involved in the implementation of the most important tasks of the reform in the field of public procurement, set by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the country through the creation of innovative educational programs in the field of public procurement with an emphasis to increase the level of transparency, competitiveness and efficiency.
