AUPET and ORDAMED: Joint training of specialists in Medical equipment
The meeting with the management of the company “Ordamed” has been held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss specific issues on the joint implementation of the educational program "Biotechnical and Medical Systems and Devices".
The educational program "Biotechnical and Medical Systems and Devices" is implemented in the AUPET at the Department “Automation and Control”. This educational program is a technical program. For example, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" started training such specialists long before the collapse of the USSR.
Taking into account the specifics of the educational program "Biotechnical and Medical Systems and Devices", along with general engineering disciplines, the educational process includes such subjects as "Anatomy", "Biophysical foundations of living systems", "Materials science in medical technology", "Medical apparatuses, devices, systems and complexes”, “Technical methods of diagnostic studies”, “Maintenance and repair of medical equipment” and others.
The company “Ordamed” is a strategic partner in the implementation of the educational program. “Ordamed” is one of the largest Kazakh manufacturers and suppliers of modern medical equipment from the USA, Germany, South Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, etc. In addition to representation in all regions of Kazakhstan, “Ordamed” has offices in Germany and Korea.
A memorandum of cooperation between AUPET and “Ordamed” was concluded last year. Now another meeting has been held. The company's management, headed by its founder and chairman of the board, Yerkin Dlimbetov, took part in the meeting. Representatives of the university: Vice-Rector Ermek Kabylbekov and Aigul Sarenova, Director of the Institute Aynur Begimbetova, Head of the Department Igor Fedorenko, Head of the Educational Program Sarsenbek Zhusupbekov participated in the meeting.
Yerkin Dlimbetov stressed the importance of training specialists in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment. He noted an acute shortage of specialists of this profile in Kazakhstan. Therefore, the guarantee of their employment is one hundred percent.
The agreements on many important issues were reached during the discussion of cooperation. For example, the “Ordamed training laboratory” will be established and fully equipped with modern medical equipment for the new academic year on the basis of the Department “Automation and Control”. A branch of the department "Automation and Control" is planned to be established on the production base of the company itself. There, students will have the opportunity to acquire practical skills and abilities in installing, adjusting and repairing of medical equipment in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documentation during all four years of study.
