Orientation week
The orientation week for first-year students at Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev is designed to help students adapt to the new learning environment. The event took place from August 28th to September 3rd of the current year. During the event, students became familiar with the university's infrastructure, rules and regulations of the educational process, as well as with the faculty and staff.
The orientation week also included various activities to help students settle into the new environment and get to know each other. These activities included thematic lectures, roundtable discussions, sports and cultural events, excursions, and more.
An important part of the event was the 'Knowledge Day,' which was celebrated on September 1st. On this day, students gathered for a festive event where the Rector, Vice-Rectors, and directors of institutes delivered welcoming speeches. Students also received symbolic gifts and congratulations from the university.
The goal of the orientation week and Knowledge Day is to help first-year students start their studies successfully, get to know their professors and fellow students, and create a comfortable environment for their university life and the development of their active student life.
