\"International Scientific Symposium: Internationalization of Higher Education at Energo University\"
On October 19, 2023, an international scientific symposium on the topic «Internationalization of Higher Education» was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev in cooperation with the University of Minnesota (USA).
The main purpose of the event, which unites scientists, researchers, and educators at the international level, was to review current trends and common problems in the field of international cooperation and education. These initiatives perfectly help to implement the tasks of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. «We must return the status of a scientist as an innovator, as a person who moves and improves the world and our country», said Sayasat Nurbek more than once.
The welcoming speech was addressed to the participants by: Rector of NPJSC AUPET Murat Syzdykov, Director of International Initiatives of the College of Education and Human Development of the University of Minnesota, as well as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pre-University Education, Diversity and International Initiatives of the College of Education and Human Development of the University of Minnesota, Professor Nicola Alexander.
Director of the Institute of Energy and Green Technologies of Energo University Begimbetova Ainur acted as the host of the event. The symposium featured presentations by scientists and staff from UMN, AUPET, SKU named after M. Auezov, QYZPU, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, ALMAU, SDU, Satbayev University.
The participants had the opportunity to participate in panel discussions with colleagues, as well as to demonstrate the results of their research on the following topics: global partnership, virtual cooperation, participation of the local and international community.
We realize that only based on studying the best international experience, mutually enriching ourselves, adopting the best educational methods from each other, it is possible to train specialists with international competencies and corresponding to the international status and level.
