Majilis deputy Duysenbai Turganov and cosmonaut Aydin Aimbetov joined the Board of Trustees of the Energo University
This decision was made during the annual meeting of the Council chaired by Serik Tyutebayev, Adviser to the Chairman of the JSC «Samruk-Energy».
The updated board of trustees includes six new participants:
- Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Duysenbai Turganov;
- pilot-cosmonaut, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary» Aydin Aimbetov;
- founder of the company Supros Engineering & supply Sanat Aktananov;
- Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs Ainura Sergazieva;
- Alexander Kuzmenko, Senior Business Development Engineer at «Siemens Energy» LLP;
- Abdulla Rapiev, CEO and Founder of the Expert Diagnostics clinic network.
With new participants, the number of the Board of Trustees of Energo University has reached 18 people. Most of them are graduates of the university of different years, interested in the development and support of their native university.
The meeting of the Board of Trustees of the university was held in a new format. The participants took part in a discussion on the challenges facing the energy industry of Kazakhstan, including the so-called «personnel shortage» and ways out of it through the training of professional personnel for the heat and power industry of the country.
Duysenbai Turganov, Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
- Our meeting is deeply symbolic on the eve of the World Energy Saving Day. Five years ago, Kazakhstan decided to celebrate this day. Close attention is being paid to our industry now. As far as we know, there is an agreement on the construction of three new thermal power plants in Kazakhstan. And they need personnel.
During the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees, the participants were also presented with the concept of the Alumni Association's activities, which involves the creation of a «graduate-university» ecosystem with its loyalty program, networking opportunities and expansion of corporate ties.
Murat Syzdykov, Rector of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev:
- Today we raise the issue of the need for closer and more effective interaction of the university with its graduates. It is very important for us to support the members of the Board of Trustees and graduates for the further joint development of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev.
It is assumed that soon, based on the Energo University Alumni Association, in addition to the Board of Trustees, which is the executive body of the Association and consists of the most reputable graduates of the university, as well as representatives of partner organizations, the Alumni club and the Endowment Fund will begin to operate. The first one will become a platform that unites all graduates of the university. To do this, it is planned to create a special virtual platform. The second will allow to form additional sources of funding for various activities of the university.
At the end of the meeting, the trustees got acquainted with the technical laboratories of the university, open and functioning with the support of technology partners, including Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, ABB and others, and also saw presentations of student startups.
