Role of youth in the life of the country discussed at the roundtable «Jastar talks» at Energo University.

In Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev) a roundtable «Jastar talks» was held, timed to the International Day of Students.

It was attended by public and political figures, educational and student representatives. The participants discussed a number of important aspects of student life, including the role of youth, universities in the socio-economic and political life of the country, touched upon the topic of professions of the future.

- The Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan together with other youth associations will launch the project «TOP-50 professions of the future», aimed at career guidance of high school students. We will tell them where to go, - said Rustam Kayyraev, a member of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. - These are the professions that will be in demand in Kazakhstan and CIS countries in the next 15 years. We have conducted an analysis of educational institutions by profession of the future and we have found that most professions of Energo University are included in this TOP professions of the future.

The presentation of student projects within the Energo University clubs aroused great interest among the participants. They have touched on virtually every aspect of modern life, from science and space technology to art and social initiatives. Some projects have particularly attracted public interest. For example, the representative of the volunteer association «KazEkoPatrоl» Adil Nurpeisov expressed a desire to get acquainted with the environmental developments of two student clubs, aimed at monitoring natural landfills and possibly help with their implementation.  

Also during the roundtable the Almaty Trade Union «Parasat» awarded the winners of the award «PARASAT TAÑDAUY  - 2023» for outstanding achievements and invaluable contribution to the development of the Republic’s youth policy, contribution to strengthening the position and prospects of youth in society. The nominees include the Energo University Student Union Committee and the SEDs Student Club.
