ENERGO UNIVERSITY’S STUDENT PERFORMS AT THE FINAL GLOBAL ESPORTS GAMES
As reported in the official letter of the executive director of the Republican Federation of E-sports Kazbek Zhangaziev, the team of Kazakhstan for the final tournament Global Esports Games 2023 included Erbol Ykylyasov - a student of Energo University.
The Global Esports Games 2023 computer game Dota 2 is a world team championship held under the auspices of the Global Esports Federation, one of the international federations of the world’s cyber-sports space.
The final tournament will be held from 12 to 16 December in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The right to perform there were 8 teams. Seven of them made it to the tournament first through the national qualifying stages and then through the regional. These are teams from Australia, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Turkey, Brazil and Malaysia. The eighth participant is the host country, Saudi Arabia.
In the quarter-finals of the tournament in Riyadh, 8 teams are divided into four pairs. Winners will go to the two semi-finals. The results will determine the two teams that will then compete for gold and silver medals. And the teams that lose the semi-finals will have to determine the winners of bronze medals.
Each team consists of 5 cyberathletes. As follows from the official letter of the Kazakh E-sports federation, among those who will defend the honor of the country, fourth-year student of Energo University Yerbol Ykylyasov. Erbol has come to our university from Atyrau. He is trained in «Automation and Management». In the third year he chose the specialization «Automation and informatization in control systems», which is more related to computer technology and programming, which is not surprising, given Erbol’s fascination with E-sports.
At Global Esports Games 2023, the team of Kazakhstan on December 12 in the quarterfinals will meet with cyber athletes from Turkey. Successful performance in this duel will allow citizen of Kazakhstan to reach the semi-final, where their rival will be the winner of the pair Brazil-Serbia.
