Energo University opened the only educational center in Central Asia on relay protection and automation SIEMENS

On December 21, the «SIEMENS Training Center» was officially opened at Energo University - Almaty University of Power Engineering  and Telecommunications, designed to conduct seminars, trainings, laboratory work on relay protection, automation and digitalization in the electric power industry.

The Centre is the only such training site in Central Asia in terms of content and purpose.

-  Here, the current specialists in the field of RA and AP CS, as well as teachers and students have the opportunity to work out practical skills of interaction with the most modern and advanced equipment of relay protection and automation, used at power facilities in the leading Kazakh companies, as well as to get deep knowledge in the field of digitalization, - said General director of LLP «Siemens» in Kazakhstan Dias Asanov.

The training centre is equipped with:

- 86 inch touch panel interactive,

- 10 personal computers (monoblocks) connected into a local network, with pre-installed specialized software (DIGSI, Device Manager, Test Universe, etc.),

- educational racks with devices RA SIPROTEC 5, covering all existing types of protection of all voltage classes (protection of overhead and power supply, transformer, generator, feeder, electric motor, prefabricated tires, etc.),

- racks with controllers to control the connection and automation of the SICAM A8000 substation,

- with OMICRON CMC 256 for security and automation testing.

Racks and devices can be connected into communication networks for the exchange of information between devices, as well as to simulate the station bus and process bus (digital substation).

Practical training at the «SIEMENS Training Centre» at Energo University will begin in the second half of January 2024.
