An employee of Energo University was awarded a letter of thanks from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his work in the State Commission for the complete rehabilitation of victims of political repression
The final meeting of the State Commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression was held in Akorda under the chairmanship of State Councillor Yerlan Karin. Bolat Kabdushev, Head of the Social Sciences Department at the Energo University Institute of natural sciences and humanities, participated in the meeting.
The meeting summarized the activities of the Commission established under the Presidential Decree of 24 November 2020. Its work made it possible to approach comprehensively the issue of rehabilitation of victims of mass political repression of the period of 20-50 years of the last century.
The State Commission concentrated on search and research and summary and analytical work. To support its activities, a Project Office was created, which included scientists, researchers and representatives of government agencies. Three thematic scientific groups were formed to comprehensively address the different categories of victims of reprisals. Commissions for the rehabilitation of victims of political repression had been established in all regions of the country.
Today on the basis of the Department of Social Sciences of our University the Center for Research of Historical Events of Kazakhstan has been created and successfully operates. Bolat Kabdushev and his colleagues are working hard to find and select the names of victims of political repression with a view to their further rehabilitation. In addition, Bolat Zholamanovich is a member of the Mayor’s Office of Almaty, heading the working group.
For significant contribution to the restoration of historical justice, during the final meeting of the State Commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression, Bolat Kabdushev was awarded a letter of thanks from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
