MICROSOFT AND ENERGO UNIVERSITY DISCUSSED AREAS OF COOPERATION

A meeting with the management of Microsoft Kazakhstan was held at Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev). The initiator of the dialogue was the Institute of Automation and Information Technology, which trains specialists in the field of cybersecurity, IT engineering and digital management.

The meeting on behalf of Microsoft Kazakhstan was attended by its CEO Sergey Leshchenko, Head of Education Development Daniyar Zhumabekov and Technical Strategy Manager Assel Abutalip.

- We were very pleased to learn more about the University, achievements and plans, - said Daniyar Zhumabekov. – I would like to note that the University is one of the most prestigious and leading universities in Kazakhstan. It has a rich scientific and educational tradition. Actively develops innovative areas and cooperation with international partners.

During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the University and Microsoft in various aspects related to the use of modern technologies to improve the quality and accessibility of education were discussed.

- The strategic direction of our activity is the development of cooperation with global companies, whose achievements determine the development of industry, science and technology, - said Rector of Energo University Murat Syzdykov. - We hope that our partnership with Microsoft will be fruitful, will not be limited to cooperation in some narrow direction and will allow graduates of our university to successfully apply the acquired knowledge in their future activities.

It is important to note that the partnership between the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications and Microsoft has been tested for years. At one time, the Microsoft Regional Academy was established based on the university. Further ways of cooperation are now outlined. Soon, for example, we plan to hold master classes for the teaching staff to help them master Microsoft's learning and communication capabilities.

- We are very pleased that Asel Abutalip, account manager for technical strategies at Microsoft Kazakhstan, graduated from our university, we are proud of such graduates, - said Igor Fedorenko, Director of the Institute of Automation and Information Technology. – To organize a high-quality, modern educational process, laboratories have been created based on our institute in collaboration with companies such as Schneider Electric, Huawei, Siemens, Apple, Honeywell, Cisco, National Instruments, Kaspersky. Cooperation with Microsoft is also a very important area of our activity and will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of university graduates in their work.
