The issues of energy development in Kazakhstan and the problems of digitalization of the industry were discussed at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Energo University

During the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Energo University Alumni Association - NPJSC "AUPET named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" under the guidance of Advisor to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zhersu Corporation A.K. Iskakov, a number of important issues related not only to the university's activities, but also to the development of the energy and telecommunications industries in the country were considered.

Thus, the trustees were presented with the Industrial Center for Technological Competencies in the field of electric power industry, recently established by the decision of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of a NPJSC consortium consisting of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after G.Daukeev and Energoinform JSC. The ICTC was headed by a representative of Energo University – PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Electric Power Engineering, Honored Power Engineer of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdimuratov Zh.S. In his speech, he stressed that the ICTC was created for the purpose of technological development of the country's energy complex and its activities will be aimed at:

- development of the state technological policy in the energy sector and ensuring its continuity;

- implementation of the tasks of the Ministry of Energy to ensure the development of the energy complex, taking into account industry priorities and specifics;

- involvement of leading domestic and foreign experts and/or expert organizations, international technology companies, research organizations, specialized competence centers operating in certain areas.

Such work is a great honor and at the same time a great responsibility for the university. Currently, the goals and objectives of the ICTC have been defined, a roadmap "Digital Transformation of Energy" has been developed and an action plan for 2024 has been defined.

An important part of the meeting of the Board of Trustees was a workshop on digital transformation with the participation of Askar Zhambakin, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alexey Anisimov, Director of the Digitalization Department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Jabbar Mirzoev, Head of the non-destructive testing of CIS and Central Europe at ROSEN, Oleg Grinko, co-the head of NTI ENERGYNET and Nurlan Zhanibekov, director of the company "ELTEXALATAU".

Experienced speakers outlined the existing problems and presented their vision for the development of digitalization in such key industries as energy and telecommunications. At the same time, everyone noted the high role of the university in solving these tasks.
