A meeting with the Consul of the People Republic of China took place at Energo University

At Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev), a meeting was held with the Consul for Science and Technology of the Consulate General of China in Almaty, Zhang Wei. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of higher education.

Consul Zhang Wei emphasized that China is interested in developing cooperation with higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and in establishing strong ties between the universities of the two countries.

As noted by the rector of Energo University, Murat Syzdykov, the university is also interested in developing relations with China. For several years, the university has successfully collaborated with the Chinese corporation Huawei. The «Huawei ICT» Academyhas been established at Energo University. Recently, the university signed a cooperation agreement with another Chinese IT corporation, «Dahua Technology». Murat Syzdykov expressed hope for further development of relations with high-tech Chinese companies and technical universities and emphasized the leading role of the Consulate General of China in Almaty in facilitating the establishment of such connections.
