– EXPANDING COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF AUTOMATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Further development of partnership relations was the main purpose of the visit of the General Manager of Schneider Electric Corporation for Central Asia and the Caucasus, Edgard Bu-Shahin, to Energo-University – Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev.
Schneider Electric is one of the recognized world leaders in the field of industrial automation. Currently, the corporation is also actively developing areas related to information technology and cybersecurity.
For a number of years, Schneider Electric has been engaged in multilateral partnerships with the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications. It was here that the Schneider Electric Competence Center for Industrial Automation was opened on the basis of the Department of Automation and Control in 2021. A training laboratory was donated to the University. It is fully equipped with modern Schneider Electric equipment and software, which is now being actively implemented and used in many companies and enterprises in various regions of Kazakhstan.
The corporation's specialists regularly conduct professional development trainings for university teachers and students. Modern Schneider Electric equipment and software are studied in various disciplines of bachelor's and master's degree programs.
Schneider Electric's regional head office in Almaty currently employs not only graduates of the Department of Automation and Control, but also undergraduates and students who have proven themselves. In addition, university graduates are always in demand in the corporation's partner companies in various regions of Kazakhstan.
During the discussion of further partnerships, the rector of Energo-University, Gani Nygymetov, and the general manager of Schneider Electric for Central Asia and the Caucasus, Edgard Bu-Shahin, reached agreements on the development of cooperation at a qualitatively higher level. The meeting was attended by the heads of various services of the company, as well as the director of the Institute of Automation and Information Technology Igor Fedorenko and heads of departments.
For a more detailed understanding of the development of cooperation, Edgard Bu-Shahin and his colleagues visited the laboratories of the Institute of Automation and Information Technology, which includes 3 departments – "Automation and Control", "IT Engineering and Artificial Intelligence" and "Cybersecurity".
