The first Creative Industries Park in Kazakhstan has been opened in Kaskelen on the territory of the future university campus
On August 28, 2024, the grand opening of the first Kazakhstan Park of Creative Industries Energo University (Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeev) took place in Kaskelen, Almaty region. And the first event of the new venue was the Film Industry Forum with the participation of top managers and the President of the New York Film Academy Michael Young.
The opening ceremony of the Park was attended by the leadership of the Almaty region, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Committee on Economic Reform and Regional Development Murat Abenov, Rector of Energo University Gani Nygymetov, representatives of the business community and creative industries.

"This is an important historical moment not only in the life of our university, but also in the region: one of the leading technical universities in Kazakhstan, Energo University, expands the horizons of scientific and educational activities, supplementing its arsenal of technical and engineering specialties with new creative directions.
Here, together with the world-famous New York Film Academy, we plan to launch a School of Creative Industries capable of training professionals in the field of cinema, media, design, animation, game development, artificial intelligence, and green technologies."
The new university territory, with a total area of 12 hectares, houses a landscaped park area, necessary buildings and structures, sports grounds and other thematic areas for creative industries. Various creative events are planned to be held on its territory, including conferences and forums, thematic workshops. And the first event of the new site was the Film Industry Forum, which started simultaneously with the opening of the Park and brought together more than 200 representatives of the film and media sector.
On the same day, the Park presented startup projects of its first five residents specializing in such areas as game development, artificial intelligence, green and climate technologies.
It is planned that in the near future, a new university campus will appear on the same site with the Creative Industries Park, consisting of two academic buildings with an area of 60 thousand square meters, as well as dormitories for 6 thousand places. The total investment volume will be about 100 million US dollars.
