Birlisbek Kanievich Aliyarov — A Renowned Scientist, Educator, and Innovator

Birlisbek Kanievich Aliyarov is a distinguished scientist, educator, and innovator who has made significant contributions to the development of thermal energy and technical sciences in Kazakhstan. Born on September 1, 1939, in the village of Zhanakorgan, Kyzylorda region, he dedicated his life to scientific research and the education of a new generation of scientists. Aliyarov not only achieved great success in his scientific research but also became a pioneer of several innovative methods in the field of thermal energy and engineering, which had a substantial impact on the development of this industry in Kazakhstan and beyond.

In 1956, Birlisbek Kanievich entered the Physics Faculty of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov, where he began his scientific career. By 1961, he had become a senior laboratory assistant at the Research Institute of Energy of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, where he made his first steps in scientific research, which later led him to create unique methods and technologies.

One of Aliyarov’s most significant achievements was the development of the "equivalent task of thermal conductivity theory" method, which he improved and applied to the study of semi-limited jet flows. This discovery allowed him to make substantial corrections to the theoretical foundations of thermal energy and apply them in practice while working on his candidate and doctoral dissertations.

Aliyarov’s scientific research covered various aspects of thermal energy, including the development of furnace models, the use of high-ash coals in energy installations, and the creation of innovative technologies to improve the efficiency of thermal energy systems. His work on the use of high-ash Ekibastuz coals allowed for an increase in their utilization, significantly expanding Kazakhstan’s fuel balance. He was one of the first scientists to propose and prove the feasibility of using these coals in energy production, which was crucial for the country’s industrial development.

In addition, Aliyarov developed and implemented technologies for the combined combustion of coal and natural gas, leading to a significant reduction in harmful emissions into the atmosphere and improving the environmental safety of thermal energy installations. His work on creating mini-CHPs and introducing the trigeneration mode laid the foundation for the development of decentralized heating systems in Kazakhstan.

Birlisbek Kanievich also made a significant contribution to education, having prepared dozens of candidates and doctors of sciences. His scientific school, established at the G. Daukeev Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, continues to nurture a new generation of researchers. He became the author of the "Encyclopedia of Energy Terms," first published in Kazakh and later translated into Russian and English. This work has become an important tool for the development of technical terminology in Kazakhstan and has been adopted by educational institutions across the country.

His approach to synchronously presenting educational materials in two languages — Kazakh and Russian — facilitated the accelerated mastery of subjects by students and the expansion of their knowledge. Thanks to his efforts, Kazakhstan has gained not only highly qualified specialists but also modern technical literature available in the national language.

Birlisbek Kanievich Aliyarov is a name that deserves respect and recognition not only in Kazakhstan but also beyond its borders. His scientific achievements and educational activities continue to have a significant impact on the development of thermal energy and the training of specialists in this field. Aliyarov’s contribution to science and technology is invaluable, and his work will serve as a foundation for future research and innovative solutions in thermal energy.

His life and work are examples of dedication to science, a pursuit of knowledge, and tireless work for the benefit of his country and humanity. Birlisbek Kanievich Aliyarov has left an indelible mark on the history of science and education, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of researchers.
