Discussion on the Development of Nuclear Energy in Kazakhstan at Energo University
On September 9, Energo University (Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeev) hosted a roundtable on the development of nuclear energy in Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by scientists and professors responsible for training specialized professionals, energy experts, business representatives, public organizations, and students in energy-related fields.
During the meeting, participants discussed the prospects for the development of nuclear energy in Kazakhstan, with particular emphasis on the training of high-quality personnel for this sector.
One of the participants, Marat Dulkaev, General Director of the Public Association "Union of Energy Engineers of Kazakhstan," noted the importance of informing Kazakhstani citizens, especially the younger generation, about the need for building a nuclear power plant in the country. Such a facility would provide reliable and stable energy supply for Kazakhstan for many years to come.
Serik Tyutebayev, an energy expert with extensive experience and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Energo University, emphasized that there is no need to fear peaceful nuclear energy. In current realities, it is one of the most reliable, safe, and, importantly, environmentally friendly sources of electricity for Kazakhstan's growing economy.
Andrey Kibarov, Professor of the Department of Heat Power Engineering at Energo University, highlighted that the university has all the capabilities to train specialists for nuclear power plant operations. To enhance the training of future nuclear energy professionals, Energo University signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Nuclear Physics (Almaty) this winter.
