Energo University Dormitories

For a comfortable stay for students, the university offers three modern dormitories, conveniently located in close proximity to the academic buildings.


Description of the dormitories

🏢 All students in need of housing will be accommodated in one of the three dormitories located in close proximity to the academic buildings.

👥 The total capacity of the dormitories is up to 1,700 students.

🏠 All dormitories are equipped with:
• kitchens 
• lounges 
• gyms 
• showers 
• laundry rooms with washing and drying machines 


To ensure fair access to housing, the university prioritizes dormitory placement for students in the following categories:

  1. Students who were left without parental care upon reaching the age of majority

  2. Students with disabilities (Groups I, II, or III), as well as those who have disabled children or parents with disabilities (Groups I or II — one or both)

  3. Rural youth admitted to educational programs aimed at the socio-economic development of rural areas

  4. Applicants and students from large families, where there are three or more children under the age of 18 (excluding the student), and the student is no older than 21 during their studies

  5. Students from remote regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regardless of whether they are studying under a state grant or on a paid basis

Accommodation fees are not charged for applicants and students who belong to the following categories:

  1. Orphans

  2. Children with special educational needs
    (According to the Rules for Assessing Special Educational Needs – Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 12.01.2022)

  3. Children left without parental care and placed under guardianship or custody

 

Important: Required Supporting Documents

Applicants and students eligible for benefits must submit scanned copies of the following documents:

  • Certificate of disability of a parent or one of the family members

  • Death certificate(s) of parents

  • The applicant’s own birth certificate, along with birth certificates of younger siblings

  • For students registered with medical conditions that entitle them to benefits — VCC certificate (Form No. 026 or No. 027)

  • For students with disabilities (Groups 1, 2, or 3) — a valid disability certificate

  • Any other documents confirming eligibility for benefits

⚠️ Incomplete or insufficient documentation will result in denial of the benefit.
📌 If documents are submitted after the designated period, the benefit will apply only from the date of re-signing the accommodation contract. Any previously paid amounts are non-refundable.

To complete the dormitory check-in process, students must provide the following documents:

  • 📄 Identity card — 3 copies

  • 🖼️ Photographs (3×4 cm) — 3 pieces

  • 🩺 Fluorography result — must be issued within the last 10 months

  • 📝 Medical certificate (Form No. 075-U)

The basis for being granted a place in a dormitory is a standardized application addressed to the university rector.

Procedure for submitting and reviewing applications:

  1. 🖥️ Applications are submitted through the Platonus academic portal

  2.  All required documents must be attached in scanned format

  3.  All applicants and students who have submitted applications will be notified of the decision:

    • via the Platonus portal,
    • or by publication of the relevant order on the university's official social media pages

  4. 📅 A notice of approval or rejection will be issued no later than 3 working days

  5. 📝 Applicants and students who receive a positive decision will sign a statement of agreement

  6. ✅ After signing the statement and making the first payment, the applicant obtains the right to move into the dormitory

  • 🏠 A student who has received a referral and signed a contract for a place in the dormitory must settle within 3 working days.

  • ⏳ If it is not possible to settle within the established time frame, the student must inform the directorate of their institute in advance.

  • ❗ If item 1 is not fulfilled:

    • the contract is canceled,

    • the student loses the right to reside in the dormitory.

    • Responsibility for monitoring timely settlement lies with the directorates of institutes and dormitory managers.

  • 📅 The settlement process is monitored on a daily basis.

  • 🕓 Students who submitted applications on time, but did not receive a place due to limited availability, may be considered for placement as spaces become available throughout the academic year.

  • 🔄 Moving from one dormitory to another during the academic year is strictly prohibited.

The Situation Center for Student Dormitory Accommodation is actively working to promptly address housing issues faced by students. To enhance the efficiency and accessibility of its services, the Center has launched a 24/7 call center that operates around the clock.

  • resolving accommodation-related issues at any time of day or night;

  • providing up-to-date information on dormitory availability and application procedures;

  • assisting in the resolution of unforeseen or emergency situations.

Operating in close coordination with institute directorates and dormitory managers, the call center aims to ensure timely and effective support for every student in need of housing assistance.
