Goals

The research and teaching Master's program in "Automation and Control" is designed to train specialists in the development of intelligent control systems, robotics, and automated technologies. The program covers modern control methods, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and industrial automation, along with teaching methodologies for engineering disciplines. Graduates gain competencies for scientific research, academic teaching, and working in high-tech industries.

LО-1. Know the main stages of the scientific research process. Master the basics of TRIZ and research methods;

LО-2. Possess methods of diagnostics and analysis of reliability of automation systems, taking into account the characteristics of their qualitative and quantitative indicators;

LО-3. To be proficient in calculating control system parameters and procedures for analytical design of regulators. 

LО-4.  Demonstrate readiness for pedagogical, scientific and methodological work and research activities in the field of professional training. Demonstrate the ability to actively social mobility, to independently learn new research methods, to change the scientific or industrial profile of their professional activities in the process of changing socio-cultural and social conditions of activity. 

LО-5. Master the basic methods of management theory: synthesis of systems with variable structure, modal management, identification, adaptation, etc.; 

LО-6.  Possess skills in software and stabilizing optimal control and synthesis of intelligent control systems;

LО-7. Know the features of digital control systems. Be able to synthesize digital controllers when automating production processes;

LО-8. To master the basic methods of data mining, descriptive analysis, correlation and regression analysis, etc.;

LО-9. Possess skills in creating MES systems, ensuring interaction between subsystems for the purpose of receiving and transmitting process and control data;

LО-10. Have skills in building microprocessor control systems (MCS). Be able to design hardware and software for MCS.

Graduates educational program of the 8D07103- “Automation and Control” are prepared to work in the energy, oil, gas, metallurgical industry, in research universities, research and design institutes, in higher education institutions, are able to perform the following types of professional activities: 

1) Research activity:

- Carrying out independent scientific research in the field of automation and control.

- Development of new methods and technologies of automation.

- Publication of research results in scientific journals and at conferences.

2) Design activity:

- Designing automated control systems for various industries.

- Development and implementation of projects on automation of production processes.

- Modeling and optimization of technological processes using modern software.

3) Design activity:

- Development and creation of new types of equipment and automation systems.

- Carrying out calculations and selection of optimal technical solutions for automated systems.

- Creation of design documentation for automated systems and their components.

4) Engineering activity:

- Development of software and algorithms for control systems.

- Integration of IT-technologies and computer systems into production processes.

- Configuration and debugging of automated systems in production.

5) Analytical activities:

- Analysis of energy, technological, design, construction, operational, ergonomic and economic indicators of automated systems.

- Assessment of automation efficiency and preparation of recommendations for its improvement.

- Conducting feasibility studies of automation projects.

6) Educational activities:

- Teaching and training in the field of automation and control.

- Development of training programs and methodical materials.

- Management of scientific works of undergraduate and graduate students.
