Medetov Zhaimuhankan Maksutovich

General Director of "KazNIPIenergoprom" Institute JSC

Zhaimukhan Medetov is a highly qualified professional with 37 years of experience in the energy sector. He graduated from the Almaty Institute of Energy in 1989 with a degree in Electrical Systems and Communications.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in major energy companies: Director of the Energy Design Center at JSC “KING” (2009–2019), General Director of LLP “AREVA Kazakhstan” (2004–2008), Director of the “AREVA T&D SA” Representative Office (2003–2008), Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chief Portfolio Manager at ABN AMRO Asset Management Kazakhstan (1998–2003). He also worked as a postgraduate student and assistant at the Department of Electrical Systems and Networks, Almaty Institute of Energy (1989–1997).

Currently, he leads the activities of JSC “Institute KazNIPIenergoProm” in the field of energy design and management.

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Almaty Institute of Energy and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok, Thailand).
